Lechschleife 1 - On the tracks of the Walser on the Tannberg

The first Lech loop is located in the alpine environment and offers magnificent views. Finally the Capricorn is at home there again. What most people only notice at second glance are the different layers of rock - but geologists read in them, like in an open book of the history of the earth.

This varied hike takes you through the beautiful natural and cultural landscape of the Tannberg hiking region.

Lechweg - from the source to the fall (1st stage)

This easy long-distance hiking trail is the first section of the 125 km long Lechweg. The 14km long trail leads along the Lech past the Capricorn Monument, through the Lech Plant Garden and one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe to Zug and then on to Lech.

125 kilometres cannot be covered in a single day. This second leg of the hike takes you above the ”Lech canyon” all the way to Warth.

The Green Ring - 3rd Leg

The trail climbs steeply from Zug through the Sagenwald forest to the Balmalp mountain hut. The strenuous path is varied yet entertaining thanks to many carved mythical creatures. At the summit of the Kriegerhorn mountain, you can see Lech from a completely different angle. From Oberlech, the picturesque Arlenzauberweg trail leads you to the Rud-Alpe mountain restaurant, where you can satisfy hungry stomachs with some delicious food.

Karhorn fixed rope route

Due to its moderate length and difficulty, this fixed rope route is also suitable for beginners. The ascent and descent do require a good fitness level, however. For those who do not feel entirely secure, experienced mountain guides are there to help.

A family hike that starts in Warth near Steffisalp-Lift and leads you via the Wannenkopf to the Walser settlement "Bürstegg" and to the Bodenalpe.

From Lech to the Formarinlake

The long-distance hiking trail describes the route from the source of the river Lech to the fall in Füssen. It is definitely worthwhile to hike the first stage in a different direction. This leads from the centre of Lech to Lechquelle on the Formarinlake. The most beautiful place in Austria 2015 is therefore the goal of this hike.
