Lech Zürs is surrounded by numerous natural treasures and photo spots. We have listed 10 of them for you. Some of them require surefootedness and a head for heights. Please do not put yourself at risk for a snapshot, there are plenty of beautiful alternative photo spots here in Lech Zürs. Our recommendation: After the snapshot, put away your mobile phone or camera and enjoy the breathtaking nature to the fullest.
1. Lake Zürsersee
The Zürsersee is a natural high mountain lake, at 2,144m, above Zürs. It is one of the most popular photo spots around Lech Zürs. With the opening of the Seekopfbahn also in summer, the lake is now even easier to reach.
2. Rüfikopf
The Rüfikopf panorama mountain is the starting point of the 1st stage of the Green Ring and is popular among hikers, connoisseurs and photo enthusiasts alike. Especially the Monzabonsee with the Rüfispitze behind it is a perfect photo motive.
3. Omeshorn
Who doesn’t recognize it? Our local mountain, the Omeshorn with a height of 2.557m. The mountain is as ideal as a photo spot from the village as it is directly on the summit. To climb this popular mountain, you should be sure-footed and free from giddiness.
4. Plattnitzer Jochspitze
From the Plattnitzer Jochspitze at 2,318m above sea level, you have a fantastic view over Spullersee, an originally natural high mountain lake, which has been used as a storage lake for energy production since 1925. The summit is very popular not only among hikers but also among climbers.
5. Lechweg
The Lechweg is a long distance hiking trail and runs along one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe. The 1st stage of the Lechweg leads from Lake Formarin to Lech and offers plenty of opportunities for the perfect photo.
6. Mohnenfluh & Butzensee
Anyone who knows the view from the Mohnenfluh, 2,542m, towards the Butzensee, a natural high-mountain lake, knows that the camera should definitely not be missed here. Because this view is always worth a snapshot.
7. Formarinsee
The Formarinsee is located in the beautiful Zug Valley and was voted the most beautiful place in Austria in 2015. And not without a reason. The deep turquoise water, the colourful variety of flowers and in the background the Rote Wand, 2.704m, are ideal for the perfect snapshot.
8. Ravensburger Hütte
The Ravensburger Hütte is idyllically situated in the Zugertal, just above the Spullersee. The certain charm of the mountain hut can also be seen in the photos.
9. Rote Wand
The Rote Wand is the most remarkable and with a height of 2,704 m the second highest mountain in the Lechquellengebirge. The massive mountain is popular with experienced mountaineers and climbers alike. Especially the red shimmering rock makes the mountain so special. Only recommended for experienced mountaineers!
10. Freiburger Hütte
The Freiburger Hütte is located in the Lechquellengebirge above the Formarinsee opposite the Rote Wand. It is ideal as a photo motive itself but also as a location from where you can take fantastic pictures.
