Chardonnay is the most widely cultivated white quality grape variety in the world and, along with Sauvignon Blanc,is also one of the main topics at the Arlberg Weinberg 2024 symposium. What strategy and style do wineries choose when creating wines from a grape variety that is grown nearly all over the world?
We invited Stephan Reinhardt to approach this question with us by comparing Chardonnays from different wine regions. This tasting offers the unique opportunity to gain insight into the work of this leading wine critic who evaluates wines from the DACH region for Robert Parker Wine Advocate. He will explain in a joint blind tasting based on 10 specific wines how he approaches a wine and what determines a top rating.
Famous names such as Domaine Ramonet and Comtes Lafon from France will be represented in this tasting, as will Arista from California, Knewitz and Karsten Peter from Germany and Tement and Kollwentz from Austria.
