Since taking over the Rosi Schuster winery from his parents and switching to purely autochthonous grape varieties, Hannes Schuster has not only become one of the leading Blaufränkisch winemakers in Austria, but now also enjoys international recognition. Robert Parker Wine Advocate critic Stephan Reinhardt not only rewards his work with consistently top ratings, but has also described Hannes Schuster as a 'silent superstar'.
One of his flagship wines is Blaufränkisch Margarethen, which has been bottled in this form since 2013. With the 2022 vintage, St. Margarethen was bottled for the first time from two separte vineyards, Hinkenthal and Lamer.
